A. Yes. You dwelling is your home and your visitors are most welcome to visit and use the village amenities with you.
A. The Fee covers property insurance (not contents), council rates, exterior maintenance of dwellings, garden and lawn maintenance, rubbish removal, emergency call system, full use of the amenities, maintenance of facilities, village administration costs, and the village bus and courtesy vehicle.
A. In addition to your weekly fee, you are responsible for your own electricity, telephone TV, contents insurance and interior maintenance of your home. The village has it’s own electricity network which provides residents with electricity at reduced rates.
A. Yes. Because of this, any residents who have a concern about their electricity account can contact Heather on 06 869 0028 ext 202, or email heather@beetham.co.nz to access our free complaints process. If we cannot resolve the concern, residents can contact Utilities Disputes directly on 0800 22 33 40 or go to www.utilitiesdisputes.co.nz, which is a free and independent service for resolving complaints about utility providers.
A. Yes, subject to Village Management approval at the time of your application. Your current cat, caged bird or small dog will definitely be considered.
A. All homes are equipped with an emergency call system which is connected to a 24 hour monitoring service.
A. We encourage residents to take an active part in the creation of their gardens but you can do as little or as much as you like. The village landscape gardeners will look after your garden along with the village grounds and gardens. Residents also have the option to have their own raised vegetable box adjacent to their villa.
A. We will care for your home and gardens while you are away.
A. Yes. The annual financial reports are available to all residents. These include the past years village outgoings, financial statements and the budgets for the coming year. The accounts are reviewed by the company Auditor and Statutory Supervisor.
A. The Resident should always take their complaint to the Beetham Village Management in the first instance. If the resident is not satisfied with the response they can take the complaint to the Residents Committee. The Statutory Supervisor and Retirement Villages Association are available to the residents and will assist with any problems not able to be remedied by Village Management.
A. Beetham offers a range of living and care options after independent living. We are able to deliver some care services to residents in their own home or alternatively you may require assisted living in one of our serviced apartments. We also have a care facility on site that provides rest home, hospital level, dementia and respite care
A. Beetham Lifestyle Village will refurbish your dwelling, at its cost and find a new resident to purchase your home.
